My Top 10 British Bands or solo artists of the 70s
What a great time for music. We had such popular music shows like the old grey whistle test and Top of the pops. Everything was colourful and guys grew their hair long very long and wore the most colorful outrageous clothes. The Era was Glam rock and we had the most amazing artists. There were great bands, Teen Idols and Heart throbs, Great solo artists, even actors and comedians took up singing too. It was a fun colourful time for all. Each Music band had their own style off dressing and their own following. Some bands even had groups of girls screaming to get close to them. What an exciting experience it was running early on a Saturday morning to your local record store to get the latest record of your favorite band. An amazing vinyl to treasure for all eternity to play on the family record player. I would try my best not to get my records mixed in with my parents 1950s records.
Below are my top 10 popular bands and artists of the time.

Just to clear a point. I am not saying the bands above were the very best British bands of the 70s. They were 10 huge bands of the 70s but there were other chart toppers that were also great and will never be forgotten. There were great bands and solo artists of the 70s like ELO, Mudd, 10cc, Wizzard, Leo Sayers, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Status Quo and Garry Glitter as well as numerous others I have not mentioned. For such a small place 926 miles from one end to the other we have produced so many musical artists. It was an amazing era for music. Life was simpler back then and the music sounded so real and had sentimental value that just brings back amazing moments in life like your very first boyfriend or girlfriend to that very first kiss or the day you graduated high school to your favorite happy summer of the 70s.
